UI/UX Designer: Enhancing User Experience

Desiging

UI Design refers to the User Interface design whereas UX Design refers to the User Experience Design. Both these are part of the User Design Specifications. It is a way of supporting the user experience behaviour through usefulness, desirability and usability. It is a way of designing products, services, environments, events, journeys with a motive of making the user experience full of qualitative support. With the UI/UX Design, a design-centric approach is provided to the human-computer interaction to improve the user interface and user experience. UI/UX Designing involves everything from user-friendly design research to developing sitemaps and wireframes, to planning and defining a project’s strategy, scope and informative architecture. The main objective of the UI/UX designer is to create effective, compelling and attractive screen-based user experiences for any website or app.

What is User Interface Design?

The process of designing user-friendly interfaces for the users that enables them to understand and use the complex technical products is what is generally termed as a User Interface Design. A User Interface Design is a digital term that is applied to the point of interaction between the computer screen and the user. UI design is all about considering the looks, feel and interactivity of the user specific product. It includes considering everything from each and every visual to every interactive element that the user may encounter on the screen including the icons, tabs, buttons, typography, color schemes, spacing, imagery and responsive designs. User Interface is a multi-faceted and challenging role that is responsible for the conversion of a product’s development, research, content and layout into a responsible, attractive and guiding experience for the user.

What is User Experience Design?

User Experience is a way of encompassing all aspects of end-user’s interaction with the company and the services and the products that the company makes available to the users. User Experience refers to the interaction between the user and the company’s product or service by shaping the experience between the two sides. So, basically it a field that deals with the creation of easy, relevant, efficient and all-round pleasant experience for the users. It improves the quality of interaction between the user and the company by improving the overall feels of all the facets of a company.

What work does a UI/UX Designer do?

The day-to-day activities of UI and UX Designer vary depending upon the companies or even depending upon the projects that they may be working upon. But still there are some roles and responsibilities that are specific to the UI and UX Designers.

UX Designer Roles and Responsibilities

This may vary depending upon the product or service that the designer’s company may be providing to the users. So as a user research, the UX Designer is tasked with the role of learning about the users, their needs, behaviour, goals, motivations and all those things that are concerned with the company’s product or service. The UX Designer may do this by many ways which can include conducting interviews with the users, online surveys, competitive analysis, focus groups, etc. The data collected by them is then converted into qualitative and quantitative information and analyzed thus guiding in the decision-making process.

The UX Designer is also tasked with creating user representative personas depending on their behaviour and demographics. These character personas help to portray an in-depth scenario of the user and helps the company in identifying in how their product or service can be made to adapt by the user.
  • Designing user flows and wireframes
The flow and wireframe are required as they represent the user’s interaction with the website or app. Based on this report made by the UX Designer the company’s plan any changes in their product or service.
  • Determining the information architecture
Information architecture for any product is a way of organizing the content within any app or website and then guiding the user to use that app in an educated way. It is a way of helping the users identify and learn more about the product zealously.
  • Creating prototypes
For any company, the app or website needs to be interactive and user-friendly with the customer. So, a prototype enables the user to test the main interactions of the product or service that they are using. This can be done by creating a guiding video which can guide users though the product’s design functions.
  • Testing products on users
After the product or service is out in the market, first a testing is done so as to gather feedback from the users based on the minimum viable product (MVP). An MVP decides whether the product is fit to go into the market or if not, then certain changes are made before launching the product into the market. This task is also handled by an UX Designer.

They together integrate all the required stuff and present it together in the form of a single interactive visual screen. Together these design choices help people understand what all icons and features are meant for what all different functions and for what action what button should be pressed. The UI Design made by the Designer helps them recognize the calls-to-action as well.
  • Working closely with the UX Designers
The UX designers job role is to collect data depending on the user experience and are responsible for creating an optimal experience for the user with a digital or physical product. UI Designers work closely with the UX Designers to ensure that the user journey is similar to the UX team’s product or service vision. Based on the UX Designer’s vision, the UI Designer may work on the voice user interfaces, visual user interfaces and so on.

 UI/UX Designer Job Requirement

  • Creation of user-centred design y understanding the company requirements, user demands, user journeys, customer feedback and usability findings.
  • Communicating with the product development team as well as business stakeholders.
  • Quickly and iteratively creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, etc. So, knowledge of UX research, wireframing, prototyping, interaction design, visual communication and information architecture is required.
  • Ensuring that the customer demands are met by incorporating the customer feedback, usage-metrics and user findings into designs.
  • The Designer should know how to make use of prototyping tools such as Sketch, Invision and so on.
  • Performing usage-metrics analysis post-launch to inform the UX optimization efforts/designs.

Coding: Roadmap For Beginners

Coding is basically a process used for creating software instructions for computers using various programming languages. With the help of computer coding, we can program websites, apps and various other technologies that we interact with in our everyday life. In coding we use several languages to give a computer instruction based on which specific functions are performed by the programmed machines. There are various types of codes and each code has its specific function and then depending on what is to be developed the codes are programmed for those machines. All the popular technologies that we have today like Facebook, Instagram, Electric Vehicle, Robots, Smartphones, Browsers are all developed using some specific code.

Compiler: A Digital Conveter

A Compiler is a computer-based program that translates coding statements or code written in one programming language to another programming language that the computer processor can understand. It is a computer software that compiles a source code written in a higher-level language like C, C++, Java, etc. into a set of programming instructions or lower-level language that can be understood by the computer’s processor and based on which then various functions are carried out by the digital machine. Compilers are very large programs with the ability of error-checking and various other functions. Some compilers compile high- level language into low level language directly but then there are some compilers that translate higher-level language into an intermediate assembly language and then this intermediate language using some set of assembly programs or assembler is compiled into lower-level language or machine code.

Difference: Programmer and Coder

Since we are a piece of the computerized time, you may have run over the two terms, coding and programming, utilized reciprocally. It is a typical idea that coders and programmers are almost the same things. Actually, there is such a lot of distinction between computer programming and coding according to the product improvement jargon.
